But I was fooled by the image in the ad. This is not shiny metal or ceramic, nor is it painted. It's really just a paper picture, cut and glued onto a cheap plastic switch plate, then painted with some sort of clear finish. The paper has to be cut just right and folded over on the edges to get the neat, sharp corners. The corners on the one I received were not done well. They were rough and a bit worn, like someone had been rubbing hard on them to get them to stick. I wonder how long they will last with everyday usage. I actually saw a video online recently showing how to do this yourself. 3Switch plateSwitch plate complements my kitchen. It's oversized so it covers some flaws in the tile work. Luckily we ha a good painter who had taken all plates off and had painted right around electrical box. Not a problem with old paint showing - match great with my other rooster accents. 5
