Customer Reviews

Jam tarts! Mini pies!Bought this to make jam tarts with. I recommend picking up a fluted edge biscuit cutter the same size as the pan holes... it's the "middle" cutter in most sets of 3. It makes creating tarts with this pan super easy... just cut out your tart pastry with the cutter... (any pie-crust recipe works...even Jiffy) press it lightly into the dips in this pan... and fill with your favorite jam or 100% fruit preserves. Bake at 350F until the crust is golden.Traditional Christmas treat! Makes great individual tarts to go along with tea... great with ice cream. Cute "individual" pies for young kids. Most people buy this to make mincemeat tarts... but I'm not very fond of mincemeat filling. You can make mini-pecan pie tarts if you use the standard shoo-fly (molasses tart) filling and add crushed pecans instead of whole. I like to mix chopped dates in with my shoo-fly filling... adds body, keeps the same sweetness... but unlike the molasses and corn syrup... has some fiber and actual nutritional value. 5Good productJust what I needed. I am baking from the Great British Bake Off. 5Makes great mince pies! The non-stick function is effective, and although I'm not used to mince pies having completely rounded bottoms, this pan makes great mince pies. They pop out relatively easily when they're done, and are the right size. 5Five StarsPerfect for mincemeat tarts. No sticking, they slide right out! 5Needs a little redesignI purchased this pan so I could try making some English jam tarts and other little pastries. The pan is lovely in that the pastry slips right out with just a touch of butter spread in the cavities. However, as I learned this morning, the pan is shallow, which it should be because of the depth of the tart cavities. The problem lies in the edge surrounding the pan. It is turned down and makes it very difficult for the cook to get the pan out of the oven using pot holders or even a dish towel. You can't really get a grip on the pan which makes it so much easier to sport burns on your hands and fingers. I think I will continue to use my miniature muffin pan.A picture is worth a thousand words... :-) 3nice panI like it. It's heavier than the Eddington version, but it's smaller: it measures only ~75% in width and length of both the Eddington's pan and the one I bought years ago from Canada. Except for the size, it's just what I was looking for, and I look forward to seeing which of my recipes works best at this size.. 4Perfect for mince piesAs an expat Brit I ve been searching for years for a baking tray suitable for mince pies and this is just perfect. It is nonstick and very easy to clean. Delivery only took a few days, so I was very pleased overall.I would highly recommend this product and seller. 5Two StarsWay too expensive my friend just bought me one the same from England and it was only 2pounds. 2Love this panI am an American, so these trays are hard to find. I bought this after watching an episode of British Bakeoff to try my hand at making a traditional Mince pie. I am shocked that these round bottom pans are not used more often to be honest. There is little chance the pie will stick because of the completely rounded bottoms and I think the bake on the pastry is better and more even. I made about 48 pies and they were all crisp and no soggy bottom. Really great pan and I will probably be ordering another to double my productivity. 5Great productI spent years looking for a mince pie tin after moving to the US. So happy I finally found this one. It does a wonderful job and is the perfect size - no more muffin size mince pies. May actually buy a second one this year. 5
